The city of Newport Beach is accepting applications from local community groups for its annual special event funding process.
In order to be considered for grants, events must be held between July 1 and June 30, 2014. They should also meet a number of qualifications — mostly showing that the event will impart a civic benefit and be open to the community.
Applicants must include a proposed event budget with their forms, and the amount requested from the city should make up no more than a quarter of that budget.
Applications, which can be found on the city's website, are due by 4 p.m. March 15. They can be submitted online or mailed to the City Manager's Office, P.O. Box 1768, Newport Beach, 92660. Application PDFs can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
