Church offering free same-sex weddings

A Costa Mesa church is offering free same-sex weddings Saturday.

The Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church, 2845 Mesa Verde Drive East, will run the weddings throughout the day, one at a time, according to a flier posted on the church’s website.

The service includes use of the facility, seating for 100 guests, a minister, musicians, audio-visual equipment and hair styling.

The church is not hosting receptions.

According to the flier, “Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church is an open and affirming church, and we are happy to provide this opportunity to provide a church wedding for those who have been waiting for equal marriage.”
