Two injured in Newport Coast crash

Two people were taken to a hospital after a two-car crash in Newport Coast, police said Monday.

According to a preliminary report, a white Lexus and black Hummer collided about 7:45 p.m. Sunday at Reef Point Drive and East Coast Highway, said Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella.

No one was critically injured, she said, but two people sought medical attention.

Traffic investigators are looking into the crash to confirm the sequence of events, Manzella said.
