What we think: The Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards card is a solid choice, with no annual fee and rewards covering a range of activities. If you’re a big spender, though, you may want to consider other options.
It’s easy to earn the $200 sign-up bonus on the SavorOne card, all you need to do is spend $500 within the first three months of opening your account.
You can make large interest-free purchases within the first 15 months of qualifying for the card thanks to Capital One’s 0% APR introductory offer on purchases and balance transfers (a balance transfer fee of 3% still applies for the first 15 months; then 4% at a promotional APR that Capital One may offer you at any other time).

Is the Capital One SavorOne card worth it?
The Capital One SavorOne card is probably worth it if you’re on a budget and mainly spend on dining, shows, streaming, travel, and days out. While it doesn’t have the best rewards rate in any bonus category, it spans an impressive range of habits and interests.
The biggest benefits of the Capital One SavorOne only come if you use the Capital One Travel and Capital One Entertainment portals, plus the stores and streaming services you have access to are limited.
Let’s look at the pros and cons in more detail.
Pros
High cash-back rates: Benefit from a decent 3% cash-back rate on dining, entertainment, popular streaming services and grocery stores. For instance, spending $300 monthly on eligible takeout and restaurants puts $108 back in your pocket each year. With an outstanding 8% cash back on Capital One Entertainment purchases, it’s even better if you frequently buy tickets for concerts and experiences through Capital One’s portal. Likewise, you can get 5% off hotels and rental cars if you book through the Capital One Travel portal.
Uber benefits: If you’re on a mission to find the best takeout in town, let the SavorOne card be your personal concierge. Offering a tantalizing 10% cash back on Uber Eats and Uber Ride services until November 2024, it’s a prime choice for those who love takeout and taxis.
No annual fee: With no annual fee, you can reap rewards without worrying about recurring costs.
Intro APR: You won’t pay APR for 15 months, giving you more than a year to make purchases of any size without interest. That’s essentially an interest-free loan you can use to buy something substantial like a holiday, potentially saving you hundreds of dollars in interest.
No foreign transaction fees: If you love to travel but don’t love getting charged for spending in a different currency (who does?), this card has your back. Say you spend $1,000; you avoid a 3% transaction fee while abroad and get $30 more to spend on making memories you’ll never forget.
Flexible redemption: With multiple ways to redeem rewards, including cash back, statement credits, gift cards and shopping on Amazon.com, you can access them in the most convenient way for you.
Cons
Limited streaming services: While the card claims to cover popular streaming services, it excludes some of the most used platforms, such as Amazon Prime Video.
Specific spending categories: The card spans multiple spending categories but doesn’t suit everyone’s habits and preferences. If you love traveling but don’t care much for takeout or TV, the rewards might not stack up high enough to make it worthwhile.
Excludes superstores: While getting 3% back on grocery store purchases is a major selling point for the card, it doesn’t apply to superstores such as Costco, Target and Walmart.
High credit requirements: If you have a credit score below 670 or so, there’s a good chance you won’t get accepted for this card. That means you have to build credit with a starter card and won’t be able to access SavorOne benefits for up to 18 months.
Exclusive portals: You only get higher rewards at 5% or 8% for travel and entertainment purchases if you book tickets through the Capital One travel or entertainment portal. This limits your booking options and might prevent you from getting deals elsewhere.
Earning and redeeming cash back and rewards is easy with the Capital One SavorOne Credit Card for several reasons. Namely, if you go grocery shopping for breakfast and lunch, order takeout for dinner and head to a live show on weekends, you’ll earn cash back on regular expenses without any extra effort. Flexible redemption options mean you can use rewards to enhance your financial health however you see fit.
Below, we break down how to earn and redeem rewards with the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards credit card.
Earn Capital One SavorOne rewards
Earning rewards is automatic with this rewards credit card. All you have to do is spend as usual on groceries, event tickets, takeout, restaurants and streaming, and you’re earning cash back.
Here’s how it works.
Welcome bonus: You’re eligible for a generous $200 sign-up bonus if you spend $500 within the first 3 months of opening the account. That could lead to significant savings compared to a card that charges an annual fee and doesn’t offer a welcome bonus.
3% cash back: This card’s biggest pull comes in the shape of 3% cash back on several everyday spending categories:
Dining: Earn 3% on pretty much everything related to food and drink. That includes restaurant meals, fast food pit stops, your morning coffee and pastry, and drinks at bars and nightclubs.
Entertainment: The 3% extends to entertainment, covering a range of venues not typically included in credit card reward programs. Get cash back on tickets to movie theaters, theme parks, bowling alleys and concert venues.
Streaming: Cash back flows into your pocket from streaming subscriptions to platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Spotify.
Groceries: Get 3% cash back on purchases from traditional grocery stores, but take note: This doesn’t include superstores, wholesale stores, gas stations, convenience stores or discount stores.
5% cash back: If you’re a part-time jet-setter, the SavorOne card is like a travel discount voucher that never expires. Say you and your friends book a cozy hotel for a weekend of fun and sightseeing and get a rental car so you can cruise around. If the hotel costs $400 and the rental car costs $400, you earn $40 back for absolutely no reason. In fact, it’s practically a bonus for having a great time.
8% cash back: The SavorOne card could make your next trip to a theme park or bowling alley even more fun with Capital One Entertainment purchases. Either take full advantage of the reward or spend the 8% cash reward on a keepsake to remind you of what a great time you had.
And the rewards don’t end there. One of the best things about the SavorOne card is that you don’t have to worry about your hard-earned cash back expiring as long as your account is open. What’s more, there’s no cap on the amount of cash back you can rack up — no cap! Whether you spend modestly or throw caution to the wind, the cash back keeps piling up.
Redeem Capital One SavorOne rewards
Capital One makes it easy to redeem cash back, rewards and your sign-up bonus.
There are two methods to choose from:
Statement credit: Redeem cash back against your credit card balance to lower your outstanding card balance and reduce debt.
Check: Alternatively, Capital One can send a check in the mail to cover the cash value you earn, and you can use it however you like.
You can also automate cash-back redemptions in one of these two ways:
Annual automatic redemption: Opt to redeem cash back automatically on a specific date each year, and you won’t ever have to worry about actively managing the redemption process again.
Automatic redemption threshold: Set a specific cash-back threshold, and once you’ve reached it, your designated amount is either credited or released (dependent on your choice). This can be a great way to monitor your savings and spending habits and goals.

Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards credit card vs. Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards credit card
Here’s a quick overview of how the SavorOne and Capital One Quicksilver cards compare:
Whether the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards card works for you depends on your spending habits, income and priorities. If your calendar is packed with weekend theme park visits and movie nights and you’re partial to takeout, it could be worthwhile. Not many cards cover eating in and out, entertainment and streaming with no annual fee.
That said, if you’re a big spender on nights out and groceries and shop at Costco, you’ll be better off with other cards, even if they charge a fee, such as the Amex Blue Cash Preferred.
