Greg Miller — a former executive for Caesars Entertainment, Universal Studios Theme Parks and Resort Group and Great Wolf Resorts — has been named the new chief executive of C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, owner and operator of Costa Mesa’s South Coast Plaza.

Miller will bring to the position more than 30 years of experience in developing quality entertainment destinations, according to a release issued by the Costa Mesa company Wednesday.

An executive vice president of development for Caesars Entertainment Corp., he developed 5 million square feet of retail, dining and entertainment projects and led the master planning of 350 acres in the heart of Las Vegas.

As president of Universal’s Port Aventura in Spain, Miller garnered extensive experience in the development of global projects.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Greg Miller’s experience and knowledge as we look to the future and plan for opportunities in the years to come,” co-managing partners Elizabeth Segerstrom and Sandy Segerstrom Daniels said in Wednesday’s statement.

Most recently, as chief development officer of the private-equity-owned Great Wolf Resorts, Inc., Miller led the national rollout of the family-oriented resort destination.

Miller holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

He and his wife, Jeannette, and their two children have lived in Orange County for the past 26 years.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join C.J. Segerstrom & Sons,” Miller said in the statement. “It is a privilege to be part of an organization that always represents quality at the highest level.”
