AYSO Region 117 sign-ups scheduled

AYSO Region 117 will hold fall soccer sign-ups June 7, from 5:30 to 7

p.m. at Lamb School.

Region 117 covers central Huntington Beach and south Fountain Valley.

Practices and home games are held at the following schools: Newland,

Talbert, Perry, Wardlow, Oka, Gisler and Lamb.

Boys and girls born between Aug. 1982 and Jan. 1997 are eligible to

play.

Registration fee is $95.

Registration on for summer sports leagues

Registration is being taken now through the first week of June for

participation in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley summer

sports leagues. Summer programs start mid-June and run 10 weeks in the

following areas: indoor arena soccer, basketball and roller hockey.

Indoor arena soccer: The sport features more than 30 teams ranging in

ages 3 1/2 to 13. Games are played on Thursday and Friday evenings (5 to

8 p.m.), and Saturdays (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) at the Fountain Valley Branch.

Basketball: The league features more than 30 teams, with players

ranging in age from 6 to 14. Games are played Monday through Thursday, at

both the Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley locations.

Roller hockey: Summer roller hockey opens June 30 at the Huntington

Beach roller hockey rink. Children ages 6 to 13 will learn the

fundamentals of hockey, good sportsmanship and team play.
