Changes made to bus line services

As part of its annual June service change, the Orange County
Transportation Authority has made changes to bus lines in Costa Mesa and
Newport Beach. Schedules and maps are available on buses or at transit
centers, city halls and public libraries. For more information, call

* Route 43 (Fullerton to Costa Mesa): The southern terminal will be at
Park Avenue and 19th Street in Costa Mesa rather than at 17th Street and
Monrovia Avenue.
* Route 51 (Santa Ana to Costa Mesa): On weekdays after 6 p.m.,
service will be increased by operating every 30 minutes rather than every
45 minutes. On weekends, service will be increased by operating every 25
minutes rather than every 35 minutes all day.
* Route 75 (Tustin to Newport Beach): Service will be rerouted from
Jamboree Road to Harvard between Walnut and Alton to provide transfer
opportunities to Route 66 on Walnut and Route 70 on Edinger. Service
south of Jamboree and San Joaquin Hills Road will be eliminated, and
service will be rerouted to serve the Newport Center-Fashion Island area
with buses terminating at the Newport Transportation Center.
* Route 76 (Huntington Beach to Newport Beach): Service will be
rerouted from MacArthur to San Miguel between New Ford Road and San
Joaquin Hills Road. Service will be rerouted from MacArthur Boulevard to
Sunflower between Bear and Bristol streets to provide service to South
Coast Plaza.
* Route 79 (Irvine to Newport Beach): On weekdays, one evening
northbound trip departing the Newport Transportation Center will be
added. In addition, the last southbound trip will depart from Culver and
Irvine about 10 minutes later.
* Route 80 (Huntington Beach to Costa Mesa): The eastern terminal will
be at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard, rather than at Park and Center.
* Route 173 (Costa Mesa to Newport Beach): This route will be extended
north from Fair and Fairview to South Coast Plaza via Fairview, Baker,
Red Hill, Paularino, Bristol and Bear. In addition, service will be
reduced by operating every 45 minutes rather than ever 40 minutes.
* Route 180/A (Costa Mesa to Newport Beach): All trips will be
rerouted to serve Harbor Boulevard and Wilson.
