Seahawks fall to Saddleback

Share

Laguna Beach could not get its offense in gear last Saturday in

its Pop Warner Football meeting with Saddleback, and their lack of

offense led to a 14-0 loss to the Golden Bears.

Saddleback scored touchdowns on two of its first three possessions

of the game and then kept the Seahawks off the scoreboard.

Despite giving up the two early scores, Laguna Beach dug in and

kept Saddleback scoreless the final three quarters behind the

defensive play of Lorenzo Torriero, Dillon Giaraffa and Devin Hands.

Laguna’s offensive highlights included a 26-yard pass play from

quarterback Trevor Pierce to Chris Hyden, a 17-yard gain on a reverse

by Hyden, and several 10-yard runs by leading rusher Kameron Pierson.

The Seahawks coaching staff named Hyden Laguna’s “player of the

game” for his offensive and defensive contributions.

Laguna will take on the Lakewood Longhorns Saturday in a 3 p.m.

kickoff at San Clemente High.
