Corona del Mar High’s boys water polo team won Sunday’s coin flip

and will host No. 3-seeded Harvard-Westlake in the CIF Division I

Playoffs Wednesday, at Newport Harbor.

The No. 2-seeded Sea Kings, who split two games with

Harvard-Westlake in the regular season, edged Foothill in the

quarterfinals, 6-5, while Harvard-Westlake eliminated San Clemente,

13-8.

In girls volleyball, both local entries are on the road Tuesday

night, automatically.

Newport Harbor’s No. 1-seeded Sailors travel for the second

straight game in Division II-AA play with a semifinals match at Mark

Keppel in Alhambra, starting at 7 p.m.

Harbor swept at Cathedral City, while Keppel put away host Santa

Fe in three.

Corona del Mar, seeded No. 3 in Division III-A volleyball play, is

at Harvard-Westlake for a semifinals match. Harvard-Westlake swept La

Canada and CdM swept Santa Ynez in Saturday’s quarterfinals.

In the tennis playoffs, Corona del Mar’s third-seeded Sea Kings

won the coin-flip and will host Peninsula in the Division I

quarterfinals.

Corona del Mar was a 16-2 winner at Aliso Niguel Saturday, and

Peninsula handled Harvard-Westlake, 14-4.

Sage Hill was also a coin-flip winner and avoids a long trek.

Santa Maria, which was an 11-7 winner over Gladstone, must travel to

the Newport Coast school on Tuesday. Sage Hill advanced with a 15-3

win at Azusa.
