Armed ‘n Dangerous wins in rout

Jacqueline Kent Struck out 11 and allowed only 2 hits to lead Armed

‘n Dangerous to an 8-0 shutout of the Sour Grapes in Huntington Beach

Girls Softball 12-and-under Division action.

The win upped Armed ‘n Dangerous’ record to 6-1.

Leading just 1-0 in the fourth, Lana Rutkin tripled to centerfield

to drive in two runs and then scored on a throwing error to break

open the game.

The onslaught continued in the frame when Jenny Pilecki singled

and scored on a hit by Taylor Gould, who later came home on an RBI

single by Jasmine Lopez.

Pilecki had three hits, Rutkin had two and three RBI and Kent

singled to aid her pitching effort.

In 8-and-Under Division action:

Bobble Heads 6; Blue Ice Dogs 5

In a tight game that went down to the last out, the Bobble Heads

prevailed over the tenacious Blue Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs opened with two runs in the first, but the Bobble

Heads answered back with four runs in the bottom-half of the inning.

Jessica Billeter singled to open up the inning and scored on a

single by Dana Rutkin.

Rutkin scored on a hit by Kasey Cutchshaw. Cheyenne Rankin

followed with a home run to complete the scoring.

The Bobble Heads scored another run in the second when Billeter

singled and scored on a Rutkin double.

In the third inning, the Blue Ice Dogs put together four hits for

three runs to tie the game at 5-5.

In the Bobble Heads’ final at-bat, Rankin opened up with a double

and stole third and, two outs later, scored on Tamila Baker’s

game-winning single.

It was the second hit of the game for Baker.
