Police man booth to answer your questions

Ever seen a police officer out on the street and hesitated to ask them because they look busy?

Well, for a few hours Friday and Saturday, Newport Beach police are posting an officer in a home security information booth at 1000 Irvine Ave. to answer your questions. From 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., an officer there will answer your home and vehicle safety curiosities and increase the Police Department’s outreach.

Besides answering questions, the officer will tell people about the department’s Nixle program, which sends free alerts and information to subscribers’ cell phones or e-mail through text.
