Briefs: Barkley to speak

USC quarterback Matt Barkley will be a featured speaker at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Night of Champions Friday night, 6 to 9:30, at Mariners Church in Irvine.

Barkley, as well as pro surfer Jodie Nelson and UCLA football player Wade Yandall will speak at the event that targets youth. The night will also include live music and comedy. Admission is free at the church’s campus and youth center, located at 5001 Newport Coast Drive.

Free In N Out Burger will be provided 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

CdM alumni game

Corona del Mar high will have its annual alumni game Feb. 19 at CdM.

The program does not charge for playing, but it will be accepting donations and contributions.

The game will feature a team made up of players who played in 1999 or before against a squad of those who played from 2000 to 2010.
