Open house for new Irvine campus Thursday

Cal State Fullerton is hosting a community open house Thursday to celebrate the opening of its new Irvine campus.

The school will have a ribbon cutting and tours of its new two-story building near the Irvine Spectrum.

Cal State Fullerton left its location at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in January to make room for the Great Park Neighborhood development.

The new building boasts a computer lab, student meeting rooms, student lounges, a bookstore, library, fitness center and modern classrooms.

The event is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at 3 Banting in Irvine. Parking will be free during the event.
