Pedestrian in critical condition after hit by car
COSTA MESA — A woman remained in critical condition and hospitalized Thursday after a car struck her the night before in Costa Mesa, police said.
About 9:39 p.m. Wednesday, a Scion tC hit the woman at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Pinecreek Drive. Police said she was crossing the street outside the crosswalk and against a red light.
The woman, who was in her 20s, sustained internal injuries and head trauma.
She was transported to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where she was kept for monitoring, according to the release.
The driver, Lori Ellen Young, 54, of Costa Mesa, did not appear to be impaired at the time of the accident and was released after being questioned.
