NMUSD seeks public's input on principals' selection

Newport-Mesa Unified School District officials are asking what the community wants in new principals at Newport Harbor High and Rea Elementary schools.

There will be two open meetings early in the week to discuss what's needed to do the top job at each school.

Newport Harbor's principal, Michael Vossen, is moving on to a district-level position where he will oversee career technical education.

Rea's principal, Anna Corral, is moving to TeWinkle Middle School.

The district has started a search for their replacements and wants to hear opinions from families and other stakeholders.

There will be a meeting about Newport Harbor in the school's theater at 6 p.m. Monday.

Rea's meeting will be in the school's multipurpose room at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

There are also input surveys available on the district's website.
