My name is David Carrillo Peñaloza, the author of the TimesOC newsletter and an editor for Los Angeles Times Community News.

A wildfire is burning in Orange County’s canyon country and the coronavirus is raging throughout California.

The Bond fire in Silverado Canyon began late Wednesday and it spread to more than 7,200 acres by Thursday. As for the pandemic, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday issued a new regional stay-at-home order.
