A 29-year-old man charged in the shooting of another man in Huntington Beach is expected to face a murder charge following the victim’s death over the weekend.

Dennis Tri Gia Dang of Westminster pleaded not guilty last week to an attempted-murder charge in the shooting of Linh Ho, 48, of Fountain Valley at about 12:15 p.m. Oct. 20 at Magnolia Street and Warner Avenue.

Ho was comatose after the shooting and died Saturday night, authorities said.

Police have not discussed a possible motive in the shooting.

Dang is due back in court in Westminster for a pretrial hearing Wednesday, when the count is expected to be modified to murder.

Casey Ngo, 31, of Midway City was booked on suspicion of attempted murder last week but later was released from custody. Prosecutors asked police to do further investigation before they consider filing charges.
