SANTA ANA — Kendall Horn was the medalist after shooting a four-over-par 40 to lead the Sailors in the Sunset League match Wednesday at Santa Ana Country Club.

Tiffany Kim had a 42 for Newport Harbor (8-3, 3-2 in league), followed by Lauren Draganza (44), Morgan Moody (45) and Ali Thomas (46).

The Sailors play today against Esperanza at Big Canyon Country Club at 3 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Ashley Peters shot four-over-par 39 to earn medalist honors for the Eagles in their nonleague match at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Wednesday.

Kim Haycraft (47), Jackie Crosson (49), Nuschin Tasbihchi (49) and Martiza Gonzales (47) also contributed to Estancia’s win.

The Eagles (8-1) face Westmisnter today at Costa Mesa Country Club.

NEWPORT BEACH — Sailors seniors Clinton Jorth and Brandon Parole each scored four times to help the Sailors win their Sunset League opener Wednesday at Newport Harbor High.

Jorth and Colin McKibbin each had two steals for Newport Harbor (10-1), and Myles Christian added seven saves.

The Tars, the top-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, begin play at the Southern California Invitational on Friday at Irvine High.

Sam Edman and Dustin Serrano, Cody’s twin brother, also had two goals each for Costa Mesa (6-7, 0-2). The Mustangs play at Tustin Friday at 3:15 p.m.
