An SUV was on its roof after a multiple-vehicle crash on the San Diego (405) Freeway on Monday, officials said.

The crash was reported about 8:29 a.m. just south of the Euclid Street exit on the northbound side of the freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Denise Quesada.

CHP issued a SigAlert for the carpool lane and the second lanes closest to it. Initial unverified reports said three people were taken to a local hospital, Quesada said.

Three vehicles were towed from the scene, and the lanes were reopened at 9:47 a.m., Quesada said.

He said the cause of the accident was not known yet.
