A Corona del Mar man who pleaded guilty to three charges after he was accused of luring a woman to his house and raping her then barricading himself in his home was sentenced Friday to 12 years in prison.

David Charles Wilson, 50, was accused in May 2011 of inviting a 29-year-old woman to his home in Cameo Shores, where he choked her, raped her repeatedly and penetrated her with foreign objects, including a toothbrush.

The woman was able to escape with the help of a friend early the next morning. Once police arrived, Wilson barricaded himself inside his home for several hours, before surrendering peacefully.

Wilson initially faced 11 counts, including multiple counts of rape, according to the Orange County Superior Court website. He pleaded guilty to three counts, one of rape, one of forced oral copulation and one of resisting an officer.

He was sentenced to six years for each of the first two counts, minus 608 days for time served and good behavior. The sentence for the third count was suspended, meaning no additional sentence will be enforced, said court spokeswoman Gwen Vieau.
