A Pool for Every Vibe
Vegas is hot in the summer — in more ways than one. A great way to cool off, Vegas-style? Pool party! From low key to high intensity, Vegas has turned the generic poolside experience into something grand — some might say epic. Here are just a few to suit your mood. Just don’t forget the sunscreen.
Chilled out
As Vegas’ version of St. Tropez, Azure Pool at the Palazzo isn’t spa-quiet, but it’s not filled with guests flailing to the head-pounding sounds of the deejay, either. Order from Wolfgang Puck’s Solaro restaurant, then get a sublime massage poolside, courtesy of Canyon Ranch SpaClub. Luxe amenities include Evian misters and fresh fruit in the 11 sumptuous cabanas.
While technically part of the massive Mandalay Bay Beach Club, Delano Beach Club offers guests their own spot of sand and a laid-back South Beach atmosphere.
The hip Tahitian vibe at Liquid at Aria Resort & Casino is less frenetic than the uber-energetic dayclubs. More a lounge than a dayclub, Liquid is outfitted with eight cabanas, each set up with flat-screen TVs, a private pool, two daybeds and a fridge.
European/retro
If you’re the uninhibited type, check out Bare Pool Lounge at the Mirage, which promises European-style (a.k.a. topless) sunbathing — though on any given day you never know how many tops will be off. A favorite among locals, Bare features two dipping pools set underneath sprawling palm trees, where you can enjoy bottle service and classic poolside cocktails like mojitos and Bloody Marys.
Always wanted a Club Med vibe at your pool party? Find it at Flamingo’s adults-only Go Pool, a tropical retreat surrounded by 15 acres of foliage. Enjoy beach volleyball, a waterfall, dance-offs, raft races, even Jell-O shots. Cabana rentals include a bottle of liquor with mixers, fresh fruit, a water-stocked mini-fridge, rolled iced towels, a cabana host and an Xbox 360 — because, why not?
Foxtail Pool in the newly opened SLS Vegas boasts a retro look with high-tech features like live-streaming TV screens and 3-D mapping on the hotel tower and parking garage at night. Look for its signature kitsch touch: a giant metallic rubber duck kicking it in the corner of the venue. Stop by on Saturdays for the Foxtail Pool Live! series, featuring performances by some of the biggest names in music.
Party time
Swim and rock out under the stars at Encore Beach Club at Night at Wynn Las Vegas. Raucous and rowdy, the weekly event combines daytime poolside fun with the excitement and entertainment of a nightclub. This summer’s deejays include Dillon Francis, DJ Snake, A-Trak, Diplo, Nghtmre, Slander, RL Grime, Skrillex, Major Lazer and Audien.
Break out your best swimsuit for Ditch Fridays at Palms Pool & Dayclub, curated by popular social media personality Kirill Was Here, a photographer turned party professional. The Instagram sensation brings his camera and his champagne facials to the already over-the-top party, along with live Friday performances by popular deejays. Food and drinks are served poolside including retro cocktails like the Cîroc Coconut.
