Winter primping meets holiday flavors

Share

Holiday sweets can be dangerous to the waistline. But this season, it’s okay to indulge. Several Las Vegas spas are offering sumptuous services that let spa-goers partake in all the deliciousness of the season without worrying about shedding any extra pounds in the New Year.

Butter rum
Qua Baths & Spa is offering five seasonal services through January, including its Buttered Rum Warm-Up. The 80-minute service ($230) uses products from FarmHouse Fresh and begins with a full-body Swedish massage using an antioxidant-rich “Red-Hot” oil to soothe and rehydrate the skin amid the sweet scent of cinnamon. A buttered rum sugar scrub is then applied to the hands and feet, leaving them soft and smooth. The treatment concludes with a heavenly scalp massage while hands and feet are cocooned in warm towels.

Apple cider
If you’re the type who’d rather escape the winter chills by curling up with a cup of warm apple cider, head to Spa Mandalay or Bathhouse for their Warm Apple Cider Massage ($150). Available through Dec. 31 and featuring products from Salt of the Earth, the 50-minute custom full-body pressure massage helps increase circulation, soothe tired muscles and create an overall sense of relaxation — which is something everyone could use during the holidays!

Chocolate
For chocolate lovers, the Spa at Wynn offers a Choco Latte Body Buff that’s perfect for the holidays. The 50-minute treatment ($180) uses products from Hawaiian Body Products’ Ola line, including a coffee chocolate sugar cane body polish and a coffee chocolate body butter to leave skin soft and smooth. The treatment concludes with a relaxing scalp massage to clear your mind of any holiday anxiety. Guests can extend the mental vacation by upgrading to an 80- or 100-minute service ($280 and $375, respectively), which includes a customized fusion massage.

Candy cane
If you want to treat your tired tootsies to some rest and rejuvenation after all that holiday shopping, the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas recently began offering nail services, such as its seasonal Candy Cane Dream pedicure ($90). Available throughout the month of December, the 45-minute service uses products from FarmHouse Fresh, including a fizzy candy cane champagne soak to soften up cold weather calluses, a sweet cream-scented sea salt scrub to remove dry skin and a moisturizing application of Whoopie Cream. While guests’ feet are being pampered, they can sip on a soothing cup of mint hot chocolate — yum!

Cinnamon spice
The Spa and Salon at Green Valley Ranch will also be offering a few seasonal services through the end of 2013, although its Hot Cinnamon Facial ($150) — available on its menu of services year-round — is perfect for winter. The 50-minute treatment uses products from Epicuren and includes an apricot scrub, a cinnamon enzyme masque, a double-layered lifting/hydrating masque and an application of hydrating citrus Colostrum Cream, guaranteeing guests put their best face forward in the New Year.

Strawberries and champagne
Finally, for a truly decadent treat, check out re:lax spa’s Decadent Body Dessert. Available through Valentine’s Day, the 80-minute service ($125) begins with a strawberry-champagne sugar scrub and an application of chocolate body butter from Salt of the Earth to soften and quench worn winter skin, followed by a soothing 50-minute Swedish massage. Talk about a sweet experience!
