Hotel Workers in Capital Set Strike Vote
From Bloomberg News
Washington hotel workers will vote Monday on whether to authorize a strike at 14 unionized hotels, a union spokesman said.
The vote will come the same day union hotel workers in Los Angeles cast ballots and one day before a similar vote in San Francisco.
The union, called Unite Here, wants the three cities to get contracts that would expire in 2006, putting them in line with contracts in other North American cities. The union wants to do this to increase its bargaining power in future contract talks.
