Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is recalling about 73,000 pairs of Buster Brown & Co. Cars Fleece Clog children’s shoes -- which are red with a fleece lining and resemble characters from the animated movie “Cars,” the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. The shoes were sold in the U.S. and Canada from September to March in infant sizes 4 to 6 and toddler sizes 7 to 11. The shoes have decorative wheels that can detach, posing a choking hazard.

The retailer also is recalling about 200,000 pairs of George brand women’s shoes. The heels on the pointed-toe sling-backs can easily detach, posing a falling hazard, the statement said. The shoes were sold between June and December in black, gray and purple. They were made in China by Joyfair Footwear of Taiwan, the statement said. Owners can return the products to Wal-Mart for a refund, the commission said.

* About 40,000 Zoo Pacifiers were recalled because children could choke on the nipple, which can break away from the base, the CPSC said. The pacifiers, which feature cartoon animals as handles and have “Mi Tosoro” printed on the packaging, were imported from Spain by Healthtex, the commission said. The pacifiers were sold in U.S. supermarkets and pharmacies from December 2002 through this March for about $1.40 each. Information: (866) 348-5080.

* About 25,000 Travel Tender play yards were recalled because one or more rails can collapse unexpectedly, the CPSC said. The portable play yards were sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores across the U.S. and online at babiesrus.com, kohls.com and target.com from March 2005 through this January. Owners of the Travel Tender play yards should contact the stores where they bought them or go to cpsc.gov for more information.
