This 1973 Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder is a race car that sold for $4.4 million at Gooding & Co.'s Amelia Island auction in March. It has a huge 12-cylinder engine that produces an estimated 1,200 horsepower and is among the most powerful road racing cars ever built, according to the auction house. It weighs only 1,765 pounds, about a 1,000 pounds lighter than a Honda Civic. This car is numbered the fourth of six chassis constructed by Porsche. It was never raced seriously and has spent most time in the fleets of collectors.
