NFL great Willie Roaf makes his San Clemente home a free agent

Hall of Fame football player Willie Roaf is calling an audible on his 4,100-square-foot home in San Clemente after 14 months of ownership. He’s listed it for sale at $1.575 million — a $305,000 uptick from when he bought it in December 2014.

Set on a cul-de-sac in the Misty Ridge area, the four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom has seen a few upgrades since Roaf originally bought the property.

Scraped wood floors have replaced carpeting on the main floor, and gray hues have added a contemporary update to previously white-walled interiors. The wood bannister in the foyer has been swapped for one done in detailed wrought iron.

Common areas include an updated kitchen with a marble-topped island that opens to a family room with a fireplace. The open living/dining room has vaulted ceilings and is divided by a two-sided wall fireplace.

Outdoors, grounds of more than a third of an acre center on a new swimming pool and spa with a waterfall feature. A covered outdoor dining area, a built-in barbecue and a large stretch of lawn complete the setting.

Lisa Adams of Realty One Group is the listing agent.

One of the premier offensive tackles in his day, Roaf made 11 Pro Bowls in 13 seasons with the New Orleans Saints and Kansas City Chiefs. The 45-year-old was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012.
