It's Twitter day on Wall Street as the microblogging site celebrates its first day of trading as a public company.
Things got off to a strong start as the San Francisco company's stock began trading at $45.10 shortly before 8 a.m. PST.
The stock jumped to $50 in just 10 minutes before it pulled back to about $46, giving Twitter a market value of more than $30 billion.
On Wednesday, Twitter priced its 70 million shares at $26, above the expected range of $23 to $25.
From the trading floor on Wall Street, our markets reporter Andrew Tangel reports that NYSE exchange officials are saying Twitter trading has been smooth, with no reports of glitches or hiccups. Take that, Facebook.
