The second-generation Nexus 7 boasts an all-black design and new 1080p HD screen, which is the same 7-inch size as its predecessor. The 16- and 32-gigabyte Wi-Fi models are available for purchase now, for $229 and $269, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Moto X will go on sale later this month. It will be available starting at $200 with a two-year contract for 16-GB models with all the major wireless carriers.

But only AT&T will offer the ability to customize the phone, at least initially. At the start, only black or white options will be available from other carriers.
