A 1937 Bel-Air home once owned by Betty Grable and others is for sale
A Bel-Air house built in the 1930s that has been home to many celebrity owners over the years has come on the market at $10,995,000.
Actress Betty Grable, musician Stephen Stills, actress Jacqueline Smith, motor company founder John DeLorean and former entertainment executive Anthony Thomopoulous and his wife, actress-talk show host Cristina Ferrare, have all called the gated residence home. Situated on nearly an acre of park-like grounds with a pool, spa and mature trees, the country English-style house has a two-story entry hall, a club-like den with wood beam ceilings, a media room, an updated kitchen, an office, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and staff quarters in more than 3,500 square feet of living space.
The home cost $30,500 to build in 1937, according to Los Angeles Times archives, which described it as a two-story dwelling designed by architect Paul T. Emery.
The property was previously sold in 2003 for $5,395,000, according to public records.
