Dwayne Johnson, “the Rock” to many, is conquering earthquakes in “San Andreas,” the wrestling ring in his WWE exploits, and even the finances of sports figures in the new series “Ballers.” But it’s his role as agent Luke Hobbs that may have people the most excited, and though “Furious 8? is a ways off, he reprises that role at Universal Studios newest attraction: “Fast & Furious — Supercharged.”

Hero Complex has an exclusive first look at a poster showing Hobbs doing what he does best as part of the grand finale to the park’s famous Studio Tour. The ride opens June 25 and also features appearances by “Fast & Furious” alum Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Luke Evans.

Johnson addressed his theme park appearance in a statement:

“When you have something as unique and special as the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise, you want to create an experience for the fans that they can only feel and experience at Universal Parks,” said Johnson. “To be immortalized in a ride is a very cool thing. I get a chance to become Luke Hobbs and kick ass…all in 3D.”

Classic Hobbs, classic Johnson. The new attraction replaces the “Fast & Furious: Extreme Close-Up” car stunt show that was part of the tour. The new piece will be a bit like the King Kong 360 3D drive-through motion simulator that opened at the movie theme park in 2010, but more technologically advanced and three times bigger than the Kong attraction.

The ride is designed to catapult guests at perceived speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. It’s all in front of a giant screen, with bullets whizzing past, fire, helicopters and souped-up tow trucks. For a whole explanation of the ride and its more intricate parts and story elements, click here.
