“Manchester by the Sea,” “Moonlight” and “American Honey” were on the Independent Spirit Awards’ best picture list as Film Independent announced its 2017 nominees Tuesday morning in Hollywood.

“Chronic” and “Jackie” rounded out the feature field, and “O.J.: Made in America” was among the titles up for best documentary.

“Moonlight” was also selected to receive the Robert Altman Award, in honor of the director who was known for assembling outstanding ensemble casts. The prize will go to the cast as well as casting director Yesi Ramirez and director Barry Jenkins.
