'Albert Herring'( Lawrence K. Ho / Los Angeles Times )
A dress rehearsal for the cast of L.A. Opera's production of "Albert Herring" at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The opera is conductor James Conlon's pre-celebration of the upcoming Benjamin Britten centennial in 2013. Britten's early and cheerfully vulgar, small-scaled chamber opera, based on a Guy de Maupassant story, was once a rarity but has been rediscovered.
