What is sad about this project is, it has far too long for the planning and buil;ding to take place. It shows a definite weakness in our culture and our lack of follow through to complete a significant project/memorial like this within a few years. The Bush administration should have made this priority one-to show the terrorist out there we will bounce back immediately, stronger and better than before.
There are no valid excuses for the pitiful delays to action.

What a crock. I sometimes think that the most important part of an architectural or art education is teaching them how to use doublespeak to make what they do sound either meaningful or good in an attempt to cover the obvious lack of either feature.
A hole in the ground is what this is. Should have rebuilt the WTC as it was or better. But we leave it to be more of a memorial to what the terrorists created and cover it with fancy descriptions and rationalizations. Weak. Very weak.
