Tough times came with success. Campbell spent years wrestling with drug and alcohol abuse, and he found himself in the tabloids during a tempestuous affair with Tanya Tucker. His fourth marriage to Kim Woolen in 1981 put a staunch protector in his corner full-time, but he didnÂ’t quit drinking until after a much-publicized 2003 arrest in Phoenix for drunk driving.
