Moving to complete the talk format that takes to the air today, KFWB-AM (980) said Tuesday that the syndicated Roger Hedgecock, Dave Ramsey and Todd Schnitt will round out a lineup of hosts that includes the previously announced Laura Schlessinger, Laura Ingraham and Michael Smerconish.

KFWB has sacked the all-news format that it had featured since 1968, laying off more than a dozen employees in the process. The CBS-owned outlet will still feature news programming from 3 to 9 a.m. each weekday, but then the talk shows start, beginning with Ingraham at 9 a.m. and Schlessinger following at noon.

Filling the 3 to 6 p.m. slot will be Hedgecock, a former mayor of San Diego who has been hosting a talk show in that city since leaving office in 1985. Smerconish follows from 6 to 9 p.m. Ramsey, a nationally syndicated financial counselor, will take the 9 p.m. to midnight slot, with the Tampa, Fla.-based Schnitt catering to night owls from midnight to 3 a.m.
