Apolis, Quincy Jones to host Alfredo Rodriguez performance

Music legend Quincy Jones is scheduled to introduce Grammy-nominated jazz pianist Alfredo Rodriguez at a special event at Apolis on Thursday.

The performance and reception is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Apolis Common Gallery at 806 E. Third St., Los Angeles. Attendees must be over 21 and RSVP to rsvp@apolisglobal.com.

To spotlight its new FP Movement collection, Free People is sponsoring a day of fitness on Jan. 20 in locations around the world. In Southern California, people are invited to Newport Dunes for a day of stand-up paddleboarding presented by Pirate Coast Paddle Company, yoga with Kylan Fischer and Chelsey Korus and a healthy food demonstration by Michelle Yam of Melissa’s Produce. Music is to be provided by DJ HyFi, and the first 50 guests will receive complimentary #FPletsmove tote bags. Pop-ups

Morphew has opened a seven-week, awards season pop-up shop at Melrose vintage boutique Bustown Modern, 8166 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. The shop features both vintage and fashion forward garments from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Vionnet, Bill Blass and Karl Lagerfeld.
