Pages of rainbow inspiration

Share

It takes chutzpah to claim to be a bible of anything, but flipping through this lovely and well-organized handbook, it’s hard to imagine a more comprehensive look at color scheme possibilities.

There are 200 pages of color combinations, ranging from the pinks -- here they’re flamingo, cotton candy and blush -- to the silver fox and dove grays. Each color is paired with either the predictable (country corn yellow with dark forest green) or the unpredictable (violet gray and glowing orange). They all seem to work.

What makes this book especially useful is the range of suggestions for adding color to every room in the house. Decorating your kitchen? Try painting the walls a pear color and accent the room with rubber gloves or a broom and dustpan in shades of bubble gum.
