It just might be a childs first DIY project: adding some graphic punch to bedroom walls with a little help from Mom or Dad, of course. Sophisticated decals and sculptural wood decoration give parents a refreshing and easier alternative to repainting, shopping for curtains and other attempts to spruce up kid spaces before the holidays.
Here, Times staff writer Lisa Boone looks at some of the newest wall graphics that allow junior designers an opportunity to create an environment that reflects who they are at least for now: BLIK: Venice-based Blik, the company that popularized these kinds of wall graphics, has greatly expanded the number of designs for childrens rooms. One of the newest offerings is based on the classic Nintendo game Donkey Kong; a 36-piece set of removable and reusable decals sells for $75. |
