Laura Zindel is buggin’. The Vermont artist updates the tradition of transfer ware by applying her original pencil drawings of insects and snakes to handmade white earthenware. The result is appropriate for this witching season and beyond, taking its place at the table alongside other contemporary designs inspired by natural history. The oval Texas Rat Snake platter is $153; the snake tumbler is $37; and the beetle vase is $153. All are finished with non toxic glazes and are available at Kellygreen Design + Home in Silver Lake, 4008 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles; (323) 660-1099; www.kellygreendesign.net.
