Trebor/Nevets’ 1-day Long Beach warehouse sale
Trebor/Nevets, the furniture store and interior design studio on Long Beach’s Retro Row, is opening its warehouse for a one-day sale Sept 16. Home furnishings -- vintage and new, including sofas from the store’s made-in-L.A. T/N Studio Collection -- will sell at deep discounts, sometimes less than half their original prices.
The Sebastian sofa (see related photo gallery) that normally retails for $3,450 will be on sale for $1,600. The Penelope Tete a Tete covered in a fabric flecked with metallic threads originally sold for $1,850 but will be marked down to $1,200.
The store also is clearing out restored mid-century pieces, including a classic multifunctional table designed by John Keal for the Los Angeles firm Brown Saltman (also in the related photo gallery). The walnut table opens to reveal two folding snack tables. Sale price: $795. I have a similar model, but I’m sorry to say it came without the tray tables.
Looking for a bargain? Owners Robert Murphy and Steven Sarinana, who came up with their store name by spelling their first names backwards, are also parting with modern furniture requiring some TLC. Price for a set of six Danish dining chairs with walnut bases and seats in need of recovering: $650.
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Trebor/Nevets warehouse, 1350 Daisy Ave. in Long Beach. Phone orders are welcome at (562) 901-0600. Items can be picked up at the warehouse during sale hours or by appointment.
