Times Test Kitchen manager Noelle Carter spent the better part of two weeks testing the recipes and method behind this story about making brick-oven-style pizza in your own home. She tested dozens of pizzas, doughs and toppings, and nearly busted one of the test kitchen ovens trying to turn it into a brick oven. (Note that the bricks used in the final method are half bricks, not their heavier and fuller counterparts. They are also fireproof bricks, not the regular old bricks, which could explode when exposed to such high temperatures.) Here's a behind-the-scenes, images-only look at making pizza in the L.A.
