Among fast food meals, these may be some of the biggest offenders

Because we know you simply can’t get enough, here is another list of super bad things to eat. This one catalogs the worst fast food meals in the country, courtesy of the book “Eat This, Not That!” via Men’s Health.com. David Zinczenko, coauthor of the “Eat This, Not That!” series of books, also happens to be editor in chief of Men’s Health magazine, and he likes to give people more healthful food options while warning them about eating items that have words in them like “triple,” “loaded” and “combo.” Oh, and “Baconator.”

Here are some highlights:

  • Domino’s chicken carbonara breadbowl pasta: 1,480 calories. This concoction that kind of looks like a thick pizza but has pasta in it is described this way on the Domino’s website: “grilled 100% all white meat chicken, bacon, onions and mushrooms mixed with penne pasta and baked to perfection with creamy Alfredo sauce.” What’s not to like? At least it’s grilled, all white-meat chicken. Whew!
  • KFC’s half spicy crispy chicken meal with macaroni and cheese, potato wedges and biscuit: 1,660 calories. Whoever put this combo together must subscribe to the theory that there’s no such thing as too many carbs. And while on some days, we might agree with that, even we are a little horrified at the mountain of starch and salt this offers.
  • Wendy’s triple Baconator combo meal with small fries and a small Coke: 1,850 calories. We told you there was something called the Baconator. It looks scarily large on the company’s website and contains thee hamburger patties, three slices of American cheese, nine strips of applewood smoked bacon, plus mustard, picks, etc., etc., and it comes in at 1,360 calories and 40 grams of saturated fat.
  • Quiznos’ large tuna melt with Cheetos: 1,900 calories. Tuna seems so innocent and pure, but when you add mayo and cheese, it can all go to heck. The photo on the website shows the sandwich with extra mayo spread on the bread in addition to the mayo that’s in the tuna salad. That seems a bit superfluous to us, but then again so do the Cheetos. You might want to watch the sodium on this too: 2,020 milligrams. But there’s 5 grams of dietary fiber, so yipee to that.

And although we don’t need to remind you again, we will: These establishments also offer foods much lower in calories and fat, so it’s not like the Baconator is your only option. (We got to write Baconator again.)
