Gift pick No. 47: Beth Marx felted wool vessels

Share

Last-minute gift shoppers looking for the home decor equivalent of a warm, cozy sweater can point the car to Eagle Rock and the new shop Acorn. Among the offerings there: fiber artist Beth Marx’s felted bowls.

Working under the name Studio 907, Marx constructs intricate wool vessels, some with the earthy appearance of knitted roots, others with ethereal colors and objects woven into the vessel walls. The pieces can be used as catch-all bowls, sculpture for the shelf or, yes, even a sweater for a potted succulent. Price: $80 to $120 apiece.

Acorn is at 1611 Colorado Blvd., Los Angeles, and yes, it’s open on Sundays. We’ll have a separate post about the store later. For more on Beth Marx, check out her Studio 907 site.
