Worshipers perform afternoon prayers on the second day of the Hajj pilgrimage 2009, in Arafat, just outside the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam, required of all able-bodied Muslims who can afford it, once in their lifetime. An average of more than 2 million worshipers make the pilgrimage each year.
