Charles Gillingham sells his contemporary in Studio City

Charles Gillingham of the rock band Counting Crows has sold his house in Studio City for $2.05 million.

The chic contemporary, built in 2010, was designed by architect Jay Vanos. Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass, vaulted truss ceilings and an open plan design add to the home’s rock-star vibe.

Two levels and 3,240 square feet of space include living and dining rooms, a kitchen with an island and a breakfast area, a playroom/den, four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Decks take advantage of cityscape, mountain and wooded views.

The close to third-acre lot features mature trees, a walking path and a bridge over a stream bed. There is an attached three-car garage and room on site to park three more vehicles.

Gillingham, 55, is Counting Crows’ keyboardist. Among their albums are “August and Everything After” (1993) and “Somewhere Under Wonderland” (2014). The band’s songs have been featured in films including “Shrek 2” (2004).

He bought the property in 2011 for $1.5 million and had listed it at $1.999 million.
