Internet provider Xfinity has signed a 10-year deal to be title sponsor of NASCAR’s second-level series, which is currently named the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

The series will be the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting next year. NASCAR’s premier circuit is the Sprint Cup Series.

Xfinity is a division of cable giant Comcast Corp., which also owns NBC, and its NBC Sports division will carry some of NASCAR’s races starting next year under a previously announced deal.

“We’re proud to welcome Xfinity to the NASCAR community as title sponsor” of the series, NASCAR Chairman Brian France said in a statement.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Sports Business Daily last week reported that it was valued at close to $200 million.

“NASCAR provides an exciting environment in which to showcase our video and Internet products,” Dave Watson, Comcast Cable’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.

Nationwide Insurance has been the title sponsor of the series for the last seven years, but Nationwide has been shifting its sponsorship toward the Sprint Cup Series.
