Lea Michele, comedy lead actress, 'Glee'

Claim to fame: Belting out tunes as Rachel Berry on the nominated musical comedy "Glee." Did you know: By now fans have figured out that Michele comes to Hollywood via Broadway. After spending a decade performing on stage, she landed a Drama Desk nomination for outstanding actress in a musical. The role? Wendla in "Spring Awakening." The show's premise about teens discovering their sexuality isn't a far cry "Glee," if you don't consider that "Spring" takes place in late 19th century Germany. Other credits: Her screen credits are few, but in 2000 she did play a car accident victim in the first season of "Third Watch." However, Michele landed the role of Dorothy in the upcoming film remake of " The Wizard of Oz."
