Sales tax: In the Nov. 28 California section, an article about making sense of local sales taxes said that stores can be reported to the state Department of Consumer Affairs if they advertise in a false and misleading manner regarding products and prices, or are repeatedly out of items listed for sale to meet a reasonable customer demand. In fact, the state Department of Consumer Affairs does not regulate businesses in that way. The story should have said that customers who shop in Los Angeles County can contact the county Department of Consumer Affairs to file a complaint, which can be made at dca.lacounty.gov.

Holiday albums: In the Nov. 27 Calendar section, a review of 2014 holiday music albums misspelled the surname of singer Idina Menzel as Medina.

Condors: In the Nov. 24 California section, an article about a video camera that records the home life of California condors misspelled the last name of a Santa Barbara Zoo condor technician. Her name is Molly Astell, not Astelle.
