India power plant: In the Oct. 15 Section A, an article about the impacts of a coal-fired power plant in India said that the village of Amlohri was two miles west of the Sasan plant. Amlohri is two miles west of a Sasan coal mine. Also, the article said that in May, the All India Power Engineers Federation accused the Sasan plant of deliberately suppressing power output, which forced states to buy electricity from other suppliers at a cost of $500 million. In the complaint, the federation cited Sasan’s 58.3% power output for the 2013-14 fiscal year and 66.8% for fiscal 2014-15. The company has denied diverting any coal, and reported that in its most recent three-month period, which ended Sept. 30, Sasan’s output had improved to 90%.
