Rain, strong winds pound Southern California
A rainstorm moved into Southern California Friday night, bringing with it cool temperatures and strong winds.
The National Weather Service said the storm, which should pass through by Saturday morning, could drop up to a half-inch of rain.
Gusty winds accompanied the rain. The NWS said gusts could top 40 mph. A 49 mph wind gust was clocked this evening at Lake Palmdale.
The snow level is expected to drop to 4,000 feet.
